Hi,
I'm testing PocketKanji on Nokia E72. I mostly works. One thing that does not is the detail screen. When in "word mode" I search for a word and then, when a list of found words appear I select one of them with up/down keys, but can enter it neither with middle button, nor by selecting options -> select. Nothing happens.

Any chances of it getting fixed? It is not a showstopper for getting the full version, but definitely is a nuisance...

Thanks for the feedback Thomasz. Sounds like E72's java engine behaves different way to other Nokia products. Nokia's java is full of such kind of tricks, even between different sw versions in same product.
Also noticed that select option doesn't work in other phones (e.g. N97) either in this context.
I don't have an E72 but I'll check if can do something for that.

juha,
Yeah, I know discrepancies between j2me implementations can be a pain in the backside as I did some work in this field myself (a skip-code based kanji dictionary). Please feel free to contact me if you have a version that needs to be tested.

Hi, I have the Nokia N8 and was wondering before I purchase this app, can you actually write/draw a Kanji character in the app to find it's definition? Or do you always need to type in the romaji?

Thank you :)

Unfortunately only romaji input is supported in Nokia version. You can try both apps for free for 2 weeks.

Thank you for your reply, Juha. Just a few follow up questions:

1) Do you know if there will be any attempts in the future to add the Kanji writing ability?

2) How would I go about downloading the 2 week trial versions?

Thank you :)

Most probably kanji writing won't come. Needs lot of efforts & time.
After trial period you can buy the full version by paypal or Ovi Store: http://digitalfootmark.com/index.php?c=midpeducation
